Grooveshark: A Moment Of Silence

GroovesharkGoneAs a long-time Grooveshark user and supporter, I’m really going to miss this service. I knew that they offered a subscription service and figured that the ads on the page paid for the recording industry’s licensing fees for the non-subscribers. Clearly, I was wrong.

While I have nothing against Pandora, I grew tired of listening to the same things over and over again and truly enjoyed the ability to search for nearly anything and find it on Grooveshark. Sure, it had its own drawbacks, but the good definitely outweighed the bad.

I currently use Google Play for free, but have considered using the pay subscription to open it up to be closer to what Grooveshark was. I know of some friends who use Spotify, but their reviews are mixed. I can’t recall the last time I used Rhapsody and wonder if it’s still tied to the clunky Real Player like it used to be. I haven’t looked into Deezer, Beats, or Rdio. So some investigation is in my future. Does anyone have a recommendation they absolutely love?
