This week’s offering, Underworld, comes from New Jersey’s Symphony X. Three of the ten or so albums that were released this week were of one form of metal or another. Also released were Lamb of God’s VII: Sturm und Drang and We Came as Romans’ We Came as Romans. While all three had appealing aspects, I opted for Symphony X because the songs felt more cohesive, but a bit disjointed at the same time and that intrigued me. I should clarify. Each song seems to stand on its own as a well-crafted unit, even if they don’t necessarily flow from one into the next. Here’s another example:
