Music Mondays: D’Angelo And The Vanguard

I’ve been in a funk lately – a tasty, groovalicious, bass-in-your-face kind of funk. This Music Monday’s post comes courtesy of D’Angelo And The Vanguard’s Black Messiah. If you’re looking for the freshest music, this post comes almost a year too late to fulfill your needs. Hopefully, though, it’s as new to you as it is to me. Perhaps I’m still living large on the R&B and funk from last week’s post that I’m just primed for some Neo soul. Savvy listeners may recognize some of the names behind the grooves like bassist Pino Palladino or percussionist Questlove.

If you can’t find something to enjoy on this album, you might need to see a doctor or priest. You may just be dead inside.

Have something to add?
