It’s February 2, 2016 and, by now, we should all know how this day is supposed to go. If the groundhog emerges from his burrow and doesn’t see his shadow, then Spring should arrive early. If he emerges and does see his shadow, then we’ll have six more weeks of political buffoonery. Has anyone stopped to wonder what happens if the groundhog is too arrogant or too misguided or simply too dim-witted to see the shadow? Perhaps it’s extremely windy and his fur keeps flying from the thinning areas of his scalp and obscures his eyes. What happens then? How much more must we endure? Whatever happens, let’s hope we don’t have to relive it over and over again. Someone find Bill Murray and keep him hidden until tomorrow!
