Music Mondays: Huerco S.

You know what day it is and what that means. This week, enjoy the trip from out of the blue as we check out Huerco S. (AKA Brian Leeds). and his latest album, For Those Of You Who Have Never (And Also Those Who Have). Normally I like to link to the artist’s own site, but it doesn’t appear Mr. Leeds has one other than a Facebook page (and you know I’m not on there). Perhaps you’re like me and are wondering who this is (and how he got to be this week’s feature). Here’s what I can tell you – he’s originally from Kansas City, but now lives in New York. He’s originally known for producing house music, but then dropped this little gem on the world. As for why, it struck my ear and stands apart from the other recent offerings.

I swear this is what it must sound like inside a pregnant mother’s womb when she stands close to her stereo speakers or turns the car radio up. It also conjures up mental images of a building crumbling as it sinks into the earth and the vegetation overtakes it. Birth, decay, and rebirth.

This album could be the evolution of The Caretaker’s An Empty Bliss Beyond This World and Patience albums. Look ’em up. Regardless, if the above tickles your ear holes, the full album is below (for now, at least).

Have something to add?
