Jon Stewart: One Night Only?

Thank you Late Show with Stephen Colbert! For one night, Jon Stewart returned to a familiar milieu, a little rusty, but still on point regarding the RNC. I can’t tell you how much I’ve missed him and, judging from Twitter reactions, I’m not the only one who sorely misses his brand of acerbic wit. No disrespect to Trevor Noah who took the reins on The Daily Show, but from the few episodes I’ve seen, it’s just not same. I’m not saying it’s bad, I just haven’t gotten into it like I did previously. Anyway…

Considering Stewart was pretty tight-lipped during his interview on The Axe Files, I wonder if he already knew he would be appearing on LSSC. The biggest question on his fans’ minds is will this be it for this election cycle? It’s too bad he isn’t running for President. I’d vote for him.

You just want that person to give you your country back. Because you feel that you’re this country’s rightful owners. There’s only one problem with that. This country isn’t yours. You don’t own it. It never was. There is no real America. You don’t own it. You don’t own patriotism. You don’t own Christianity. You sure as hell don’t own respect for the bravery and sacrifice of military, police, and firefighters.

Trust me, I saw a lot of people on the convention floor in Cleveland with their “blue lives matter” rhetoric, who either remained silent or actively fought against the 9/11 first responders’ bill reauthorization. I see you and I see your BULLSHIT. I see it.

Best. Quote.
