Finish the sentence: There’s a hole…
A. in my heart that can only be filled by you.
B. in the bottom of the sea.
C. in the world.
D. in the bucket, dear Liza.
E. in the space where a dishwasher once stood.
If you guessed E, give yourself ten points. I’ve been without a dishwasher ever since mine stopped working back at the end of 2014. Since I’d lost my job and was focusing on maintaining the essentials like heat, water, air, etc. it really wasn’t a priority. With those things addressed, now seemed like a good time to address the dishwasher. So, with the assistance of my friend Bob (and a smidge of swearing under our breath), we were able to extricate the lone Trump supporter of my kitchen appliances – it’s old, white, entitled, and caused more than it’s share of hate – and kick it to the curb.
With any luck, my new (to me) one will be here this weekend and we can get it installed with less trouble than it took to get the old one out. At first I was worried about buying a used one, but I’ve been assured by my sister-in-law that it’s been well maintained. Worst case scenario I’m out $50. I was hoping to start adding more Smart appliances to my home, but I didn’t see anything that I really wanted to spend $1500+ on. Still, it got me thinking so perhaps I should say worst case scenario I’ll be out several thousand dollars as I look at the rest of the kitchen and realize it will soon be time for a remodel. The joys of home ownership!
