Resurrection: 7th Level Necromancy
Sha’Mari, taxed heavily as the divine light exited her diminutive frame, slumped to the ground. The family heirloom she had held aloft mere moments ago now vanished into the ether with a flash. Moments passed with only her slow, ragged breaths to mark them. The still form beneath her fingertips lurched upwards as if pulled by some invisible thread before collapsing to the ground once more. Gathering every ounce of strength remaining, Sha’Mari rose to a knee. Her head still reeling, she growled to the heavens.
“What, oh Divine One, have I done to offend thee? Was my sacrifice unworthy? Was my blood toll lacking? Why does my love, Cer’Mer, lie cold and unmoving?”
A single word filled her head as darkness claimed her, “Patience.” The once-dead figure rose to his feet and, without effort or thought, scooped the cleric into his arms. Her chest rose and fell as a single word filled his head, “Life.”
